Pickleball has been growing rapidly worldwide, and Malaysia is no exception. But did you know that the first dedicated pickleball court in Malaysia was built right here in Miri? Let’s take a look at the journey of pickleball in Malaysia and how PickleStory is set to refresh the game with its newly upgraded indoor facility.
A Little Bit of History
Back in late 2019, Champion Badminton Courts in Miri made history by establishing Malaysia’s first dedicated pickleball court. This outdoor hardcourt project was completed in collaboration with Mr. Farrell Choo, the President of the Malaysia Pickleball Association. It marked the official start of organized pickleball play in Malaysia, paving the way for the sport’s growth across the nation.
